On Friday, December 19, skies across the country are expected to be mostly cloudy, with rain forecast for parts of the southern regions starting in the afternoon.
From the afternoon into the night, precipitation is expected in Busan, Ulsan, the eastern inland areas of Gyeongsangnam-do, and the southern coastal regions.
In some areas along the southern coast of Gyeongsangbuk-do, less than 0.1 mm of drizzle is also expected. On the following day, December 20, there is a high likelihood of rain nationwide. Temperatures will remain similar to the previous day, staying below freezing and resulting in continued chilly weather.
Morning temperatures are forecast to drop below minus 5 degrees Celsius, especially in the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon and inland Gyeongsangbuk-do. In some inland areas of Chungcheong and the southern regions, the temperature difference between day and night is expected to reach around 15 degrees Celsius, so caution is advised to maintain good health.
Morning lows are expected to range from minus 8 to 7 degrees Celsius, while daytime highs will range from 5 to 17 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, strong winds are expected in the mountainous areas of Gangwon from the afternoon. Wave heights in the East Sea and West Sea coastal waters are expected to be between 0.5 and 1.5 meters, and between 0.5 and 1.0 meters in the South Sea coastal waters. In offshore areas up to about 200 kilometers from the coastline, wave heights are forecast to reach 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea and West Sea, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the South Sea.
