The "Comprehensive Evaluation Awards for Outstanding Cities and Counties in Local Tax Administration" is an annual event designed to promote the development of local tax administration by providing practical incentives to cities and counties that have made efforts to expand local finances. The event comprehensively evaluates all aspects of local tax administration, including the collection rate of local tax revenues, to select outstanding cities and counties.

As a result of the evaluation, Wonju and Taebaek were selected as the top performers. Samcheok, Donghae, Cheorwon, and Yeongwol were recognized for excellence, while Gangneung, Sokcho, Yangyang, and Yanggu received encouragement awards. In addition to certificates, a total of 24 million won in prize money will be awarded.

Yoon Wooyoung, Director of Administration at Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, stated, "This year, despite the difficult circumstances of a weakened local tax revenue base due to the downturn in the real estate market, I deeply appreciate the dedicated efforts of the public officials in the local tax departments of each city and county." He added, "Next year, we will continue to provide active support, including significantly increasing the prize money, so that the efforts on the ground can continue."
