Gyeongsan City (Mayor Cho Hyunil) announced on December 18 that it received the Excellence Award in the city and county evaluation category for public hygiene management projects at the "2025 Food and Public Hygiene Performance Conference" organized by North Gyeongsang Province.
This annual conference, hosted by North Gyeongsang Province and targeting 22 cities and counties, is held to share major achievements in the fields of food and public hygiene management and to recognize outstanding cities, counties, and related personnel. The event aims to spread best practices in on-site hygiene management and to protect the health of provincial residents.
Gyeongsan City was selected as an outstanding institution for its achievements in key evaluation areas, including strengthening the evaluation of public hygiene services, ensuring the appropriateness of hygiene inspections and administrative measures for public hygiene businesses, and promoting the operation of honorary public hygiene inspectors.
An Byungsook, Director of Gyeongsan City Health Center, stated, "This award is the result of the collaboration between public hygiene business operators and government officials who have quietly worked on the front lines, always prioritizing the health and safety of our citizens." She added, "We will continue to do our utmost to improve hygiene management and the environment, creating a city where people want to live."
