The Women's Employment Council is a consultative body formed to discover local job opportunities for women and create a gender-equal work environment, thereby expanding women's participation in the social and economic spheres. Led by the Department of Women and Youth, the council consists of nine members across six sectors, including the Division of Livelihood Economy's Job Creation Team, Yangsan Women's New Employment Center, representatives from companies related to women's employment, the Gender-Friendly City Citizen Participation Group, and gender experts.

This meeting was specifically organized to share information on the discovery and linkage of women's jobs through updates from the Division of Livelihood Economy and the Yangsan Women's New Employment Center. It also provided a platform for private sector representatives to discuss challenges related to recruitment and job retention, and for the citizen participation group to share diverse opinions on women's employment projects.

Yangsan City announced that in 2026, it will continue to actively implement job policies for a gender-friendly city through the Women's Employment Council, including: creating a work environment to prevent career interruptions among women; developing job linkage strategies and discovering region-specific jobs tailored to local conditions; and establishing cooperative systems to promote female employment and create new jobs.

Lee Sungmi, Director of the Department of Women and Youth and Chairperson of the Women's Employment Council, stated, "We will continue our efforts to expand women's participation in society and the economy and improve their work environment, based on a shift in perception regarding women's careers and abilities."
