Agreement with Warm Companion on the "Universal Stage" Project
YG Entertainment announced on December 18 that it has signed a business agreement with the social welfare foundation Warm Companion to jointly promote the "Universal Stage" project, which aims to expand cultural accessibility to K-pop performances.
The "Universal Stage" project is designed to create an environment where anyone, regardless of disability, can enjoy performances. The initiative includes eliminating accessibility barriers throughout the information, environment, and mobility processes, and aims to establish a standard model for performance accessibility in the long term.
Under the agreement, YG will work to improve accessibility for its artists' performances and support the enhancement of barrier-free infrastructure at other venues as well. The company will also develop accessibility standards that can be applied across the performance culture sector, working to standardize and create manuals for them.
Campaigns to raise awareness about disabilities will also be expanded. At future performances by YG artists, various support programs will be implemented, including the rental of assistive devices, disability awareness programs, and the introduction of sensory regulation rooms. In addition, the plan is to promote the "Universal Stage" model as a CSR case through public campaigns, academic conferences, and forums.
Last year, YG published its Sustainable Performance Report, unveiling the "Seven Principles of Sustainable Performance." The core principles include greenhouse gas management, improving performance accessibility, fan engagement, enhancing content influence, venue safety management, reducing environmental pollution at venues, and sustainable performance governance.
This agreement is an extension of YG's sustainable performance activities, and the company plans to accelerate the spread of an inclusive performance culture and the creation of a sustainable performance environment based on ESG practices.
