The UNICEF Korea Committee (Chairman Chung Kap-young) announced on December 18 that it is launching a new sponsorship campaign, "UNICEF Action," to encourage action for children around the world, together with actor Son Seokgu.
This campaign consists of three videos: "UNICEF Action," which emphasizes that our small actions can change children's lives; "UNICEF This Moment," which supports starving children in the Gaza Strip; and "UNICEF Children Only," which poetically expresses UNICEF's activities for children worldwide.
Son Seokgu, who participated in all three videos through talent donation, delivers the pain and need for help of children suffering from conflict around the world in a calm yet powerful tone, drawing from his personal experiences during his deployment to Iraq.
The campaign videos will be released sequentially on TV channels starting December 18, and participation is available via phone and the website.
Son Seokgu stated, "If our small actions can change the lives of children in pain, there is no reason to hesitate. I hope many people will show warm interest to children who are waiting for a helping hand amid conflict, hunger, and disease."
Jo Mijin, Secretary General of the UNICEF Korea Committee, said, "I sincerely thank Son Seokgu for adding his valuable support for children suffering from conflict. The damage from conflict is borne entirely by the most vulnerable in society-children. For children whose entire lives are threatened by the conflicts and divisions of adults, the interest and action of all of us are needed. I ask for the participation of many people."
