Gwangyang City in South Jeolla Province has recommended the Gwangyang Wine Cave as a special destination to spend the upcoming Christmas and year-end in a warm and romantic atmosphere.
The Gwangyang Wine Cave is a repurposed Seokjeong Tunnel, which was used for cargo transportation for over 70 years since 1913. The tunnel retains its original structure and appearance, with a total length of 301 meters, a width of 4.5 meters, and a height of 6 meters.

In celebration of Christmas, the interior of the cave is decorated with Tomte dolls, creating a romantic year-end ambiance. Tomte dolls, which symbolize Christmas in Scandinavia, are characterized by their pointed knit hats and full white beards, adding a cozy and warm feeling to the space.
In addition, a Christmas discount event is being held until December 31, allowing visitors to purchase premium wines at up to 25% off, offering a special treat for guests.
Lee Hyunju, Head of the Tourism Division, said, "The Gwangyang Wine Cave is a unique space where you can spend an exciting Christmas warmly and romantically, and soothe the wistfulness of the year's end. I hope you will enjoy a special Christmas with your loved ones in this romantic multi-cultural space where you can experience wine, media art, wine foot baths, and a variety of other content all in one place."
Meanwhile, the Gwangyang Wine Cave is open year-round from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission is 7,000 won for adults; 6,000 won for residents of Gwangyang, Yeosu, and Suncheon, seniors, people with disabilities, and groups of 20 or more; and 5,000 won for children from 36 months old up to high school students. Various package products combining admission, wine, and wine foot baths are also available.
