Kakao Entertainment and Sony Partner on Immersive Audio Business... "MMA 2025" Stage Debut

Utilizing Sony's "360 Reality Audio"

Kakao Entertainment announced on December 17 that it is pursuing a business collaboration with Sony utilizing the immersive audio experience, "360 Reality Audio."

360 Reality Audio places individual sounds such as vocals, instruments, and effects in a 360-degree space, allowing for precise representation of the distance and direction between the listener and the sounds. This technology enables listeners to experience an immersive and vivid sense of being surrounded by a live performance, as if they are in the midst of the artist's show.


The two companies will unveil a special stage created through this collaboration at the "2025 Melon Music Awards (MMA2025)," which will be held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on December 20. Kakao Entertainment stated that they plan to deliver the rich excitement of K-pop through live broadcasts on various online platforms.


Further collaborations on content production and other projects are also planned. Kakao Entertainment is pursuing music intellectual property (IP) planning, production, and music distribution businesses based on a multi-label system. Melon and Verries are among its representative platforms.


A Kakao Entertainment representative said, "Starting with MMA2025, we plan to explore various collaborative opportunities that can generate global synergy by leveraging Sony's innovative technology."
