South Jeolla Provincial Council Secures 1.6 Billion Won Budget for Heating and Cooling Improvements at Gangjin Medical Center

Gangjin Medical Center Improves Environment by Upgrading Outdated Heating and Cooling System
Kim Juwung: "Positive Impact on Residents in Medically Underserved Southwestern Region"

The South Jeolla Provincial Council announced on December 17 that it has secured a budget of 1.6 billion won for the improvement of heating and cooling facilities at Gangjin Medical Center during the review by the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts at the 395th regular session.

This budget consists of 800 million won in national funding and 800 million won in provincial funding, and it will be allocated to facility improvements in the future. Gangjin Medical Center currently faces difficulties in properly adjusting perceived temperatures for each patient due to its outdated, centrally controlled heating and cooling system.

This has led to ongoing discomfort among inpatients, and there have been calls for basic facility upgrades befitting a public medical institution. The planned improvements are expected to enhance patient satisfaction and play a key role in restoring trust in the hospital.

Assemblyman Kim Juwung (Democratic Party of Korea, Proportional Representation) stated, "Gangjin Medical Center provides vital healthcare services to residents in the vulnerable southwestern region, so I welcome the securing of a budget for heating and cooling facility improvements." He added, "This upgrade will improve the medical environment for local residents and help restore trust in the hospital."

He continued, "Securing the budget is only the beginning; thorough planning and inspection are needed throughout the entire project, including design and construction. We will continue to carefully examine whether there are any other medically underserved areas and strive to ensure that provincial residents can access healthcare services without inconvenience."

With this budget secured, Gangjin Medical Center is expected to provide a better environment for patients, which will likely have a positive impact on the health and safety of the local community.
