This briefing session was organized to widely promote the global heritage value of the Hoam Temple Site, which is Yangju City's representative cultural heritage, and to build community consensus for its registration as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
On this day, the session was held for the heads of villages in Baekseok-eup and included ▲ viewing a promotional video about the Hoam Temple Site ▲ an explanation of the UNESCO World Heritage system ▲ a presentation on the global heritage value of the Hoam Temple Site ▲ and an overview of the process for pursuing UNESCO World Heritage registration.
A Yangju City official stated, "Currently, the Hoam Temple Site is undergoing a preliminary evaluation by ICOMOS, the UNESCO advisory body, which is one of the steps in the World Heritage registration process. Moving forward, we plan to hold additional briefing sessions in connection with meetings of various local organizations in towns and districts to inform residents about the process and related details of the Hoam Temple Site's World Heritage registration efforts."
