The 'Sustainable Management Government Awards' is the only government award in the ESG field, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. It is presented to organizations or groups that contribute to the spread and advancement of sustainable management, thereby enhancing industrial competitiveness and creating social value and achievements.

KT&G was highly evaluated for establishing its mid- to long-term environmental management strategy, 'KT&G Green Impact,' and obtaining official certification from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its 'Net Zero' goal, thereby systematically managing environmental risks throughout its value chain. The company was also recognized for strengthening governance transparency by fully complying with all key indicators in its corporate governance report, leading to its selection as an 'Outstanding Corporate Governance Report Disclosure Company' by the Korea Exchange.

In addition, KT&G has consistently been recognized for excellence in sustainable management by reputable domestic and international evaluation agencies. On December 10, the company became the first in its industry to receive the highest 'AAA' rating in the ESG assessment by MSCI, a leading global investment information provider. In December of last year, KT&G was also included in the 'World Index,' the highest tier of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) announced by S&P Global, further demonstrating its world-class standing.

A KT&G representative stated, "KT&G is making continuous efforts to create sustainable value across the entire corporate value chain," adding, "We will continue to strengthen ESG management in line with global standards to enhance both corporate and social value."
