"2026 Recommended Destinations of the Month" Unveiled for Visit Gangwon Year

Top Attractions Selected from 18 Cities and Counties
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province and the Gangwon Tourism Foundation announced on December 17 the final list of "2026 Recommended Destinations of the Month," which will highlight the seasonal attractions of Gangwon tourism each month throughout 2026 as part of the "2025-2026 Visit Gangwon Year."
This announcement aims to spotlight the unique seasonal content of all 18 cities and counties in Gangwon on a monthly basis, suggesting the best travel times for visitors and promoting local tourism revitalization.
According to the selected list: ▲ In January, the Taebaeksan Snow Festival and Hongcheongang Frozen River Festival; ▲ In February, the Cheorwon Hantangang Mulwitgil and Wonju Chiaksan & Guryongsa; ▲ In March, Sokcho Yeongnangho and Donghae Hanseom Sentimental Sea Road; ▲ In April (spring), Yangyang Namdaechon Cherry Blossom Road and Yeongwol Danjong Cultural Festival; ▲ In May, Samcheok Rose Festival and Yanggu Gomchwi Festival; ▲ In June, Gangneung Danoje Festival and Hwacheon Sancheoneo Park Golf Course; ▲ In July (summer), Jeongseon Mindungsan Dolina and Donghae Mukho Dojjaebi Festa; ▲ In August, Yanggu Dutayeon & Gwangchi Valley and Taebaek Hangang·Nakdonggang Headwaters Festival; ▲ In September, Sokcho Wellness Seorak, Chuncheon Makguksu Dakgalbi Festival, Anitoy Festival, and Gongjicheon Jazz Festa; ▲ In October (autumn), Cheorwon Goseokjeong Flower Garden and Inje Autumn Flower Festival; ▲ In November, Goseong Hwajinpo Marine Nuri-gil, Songjiho Daeseom Marine Trail, and Pyeongchang Highland Kimchi Festival; ▲ In December, Hoengseong Anheung Steamed Bun Village and Wonju Sogeumsan Grand Valley were included.
Notably, this year’s selection process featured not only well-known festivals but also a significant number of hidden gems and new tourist attractions that reflect recent trends, such as the Hwacheon Sancheoneo Park Golf Course, Goseong Hwajinpo Marine Nuri-gil, and Wonju Sogeumsan Grand Valley.
The Recommended Destinations of the Month will allow visitors to experience the most attractive moments in each of the 18 cities and counties, offering unforgettable year-round travel experiences.
