Hana Bank and Hana Card announced on the 17th that they have signed a 'Business Agreement for the Activation of Data Exchange' with Daejeon Metropolitan City, agreeing to collaborate for the development of the local community and to strengthen the self-sufficiency of small business owners.

This agreement was established to enable the public and private sectors to cooperate on data, thereby developing financial policies and products for small businesses, revitalizing local commercial districts, and responding swiftly to regional issues such as ESG administration.

To this end, Hana Bank and Hana Card plan to share a variety of financial transaction data with Daejeon Metropolitan City, including information on the status of local commercial districts, trends in small business financial transactions, consumer trends, and analyses of foreign customers. Daejeon Metropolitan City will use the data it receives to develop more precise support policies for small businesses, such as revitalizing the local economy, tourism policies, and local currency analysis.

At the signing ceremony held at Daejeon City Hall, Young-Soo Sung, CEO of Hana Card, and Dong-Yeol Lee, Executive Vice President of Hana Bank Chungcheong Sales Group, shared their understanding of the need to overcome the crisis facing the stagnant local economy and to achieve balanced growth. In addition to utilizing data for policy development, they also agreed to collaborate on analyzing the effectiveness of policies related to local currency, policy finance, festivals, and events.

In particular, data held by Hana Bank and Hana Card-such as analyses by business type and size among small businesses, consumption characteristics by generation, and transaction status by channel for foreign customers-are already being used as analytical resources for financial policy development within Hana Financial Group. Since March, Daejeon Metropolitan City has been actively pursuing 'data-driven administration' by introducing services such as the 'Small Business Commercial District Analysis Service,' making a variety of collaborative efforts possible.

Young-Soo Sung, CEO of Hana Card, stated, "By exchanging card payment data, which most quickly reflects the pulse of the local economy, we will continue to engage in effective cooperation that contributes to revitalizing the local economy, including support for small businesses."

Dong-Yeol Lee, Executive Vice President of Hana Bank Chungcheong Sales Group, said, "It is meaningful that Hana Bank, which is leading the advancement of the AI industry and digital finance, can lay the groundwork for support policies for small businesses and contribute to revitalizing the local economy through data exchange with local governments. Hana Bank will always be by your side to drive sustainable growth across society, beyond finance."

Meanwhile, Hana Bank has been actively supporting local small businesses, for example by launching the 'Preferential Support Guarantee Agreement for Faithful Repayers' and the 'Together Minus Account' in September to help stabilize and grow small businesses in Daejeon Metropolitan City.
