AgentAI announced on December 17 that it has established its subsidiary, AgentAI Labs, and is officially launching its next-generation payment business utilizing artificial intelligence (AI).
In the global market, environments where AI agents directly handle everything from service usage to payment are quickly taking hold. Notably, AI agent payment standards such as Google’s AP2 (Agent Protocol) and Coinbase’s x402 (Payment Required) are drawing attention among overseas technology companies and developer communities.
OpenAI is also expanding the AI-based online shopping and payment environment, collaborating with payment company Stripe and global shopping platform Shopify, with ChatGPT at the center.
Industry experts evaluate this trend as the evolution of payment infrastructure, where AI is moving beyond simple recommendations to become directly connected to actual transactions and payments.
AgentAI Labs is an organization dedicated to AI automated payments and agent-based payment environments in response to these global changes.
AgentAI believes that, as AI services proliferate, payments will also become automated, standardized, and globalized, and plans to foster this area through its subsidiary over the medium to long term.
The company has determined that a stablecoin-based payment structure, which has low volatility and consistent global value, is most suitable for the AI automated payment environment. Based on this, AgentAI aims to establish a structure that can expand to various digital assets and payment methods, and to gradually broaden the application of its AI payment infrastructure to areas such as shopping and subscription content.
