Daejeon City also focused on maximizing the recirculation effect within the local economy by encouraging spending at local merchants and systematically monitoring usage throughout the consumer coupon program.
The additional 750 million won in national funding secured this time will be reinvested in future projects to revitalize the local economy, with plans under review to focus on supporting small businesses and implementing citizen-centered economic policies.
Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, stated, "The results of this Ministry of the Interior and Safety evaluation show that the consumer coupon program was not just a cash handout, but a policy tool Daejeon City actively used to boost the local economy. We will continue to swiftly implement policies that directly stabilize livelihoods and restore the regional economy so that both citizens and small business owners can feel the impact."
