Cheongsong County in North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Yoon Kyunghee) has received the Grand Prize in the "2025 Gyeongsangbuk-do Fruit Industry Development Policy Evaluation" organized by North Gyeongsang Province.
The Gyeongsangbuk-do Fruit Industry Development Policy Evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of 22 cities and counties within North Gyeongsang Province, based on 10 indicators across 5 categories, including efforts to secure budgets for fruit production, the appropriateness of budget execution, and achievements in promoting the fruit industry.
Cheongsong County was particularly recognized for its excellence in several of the 10 indicators, including the selection of the Bunam-myeon Yangsuk 1-ri District as a national and provincial government project for specialized fruit production complexes, support for sapling costs in the creation of the Cheongsong Apple flat-type orchard, and support for frost damage mitigation projects. These achievements in county-led initiatives contributed to winning the Grand Prize.
An official from Cheongsong County stated, "Winning this Grand Prize is the result of Cheongsong County's distinctive efforts in the fruit sector, as well as our continued interest and steady progress in agricultural development. We will continue to do our utmost to advance Cheongsong County's fruit agriculture through field-oriented, future-oriented agricultural policies."
