Mokwon University Unveils Emblem Commemorating 72nd Anniversary

Mokwon University has released an emblem commemorating its 72nd anniversary.

According to the university on December 16, the emblem features the number '72' in the shape of a ribbon, symbolizing both the 72-year history and the founding principles of truth, love, and service, while also embodying a vision to leap forward toward the next 100 years.

The emblem uses a gradient of red, blue, and orange hues. This represents the depth of the pursuit of 'truth,' the 'love' extended to others, and the communal values completed through 'service.' The gradual color transition was applied to express the passion and creativity of youth, as well as the energy of change and innovation blending together.

The curves forming the numbers '7' and '2' and the upward-pointing arrow symbolize the harmony between stability and a spirit of challenge. Mokwon University explained that this reflects its balanced educational philosophy-preserving tradition while pursuing future-oriented innovation-and its commitment to responsible social contribution.

The ribbon shape, stretching powerfully forward, visualizes the educational goal of supporting students' leaps and symbolizes the university's vision to grow as a prestigious global Christian institution, open to both the local community and the world, and breathing together with society.

Lee Heehak, President of Mokwon University, stated, "The emblem is a symbol that reflects the 72-year history of Mokwon University and its founding principles of 'truth, love, and service,' as well as our determination to move toward the next 100 years. Mokwon University will flexibly respond to changes like a ribbon as a prestigious global Christian institution, while steadfastly maintaining the essence of education."
