Jeongeup City in North Jeolla Province is recruiting 10 families to participate in the 'Residential Family Practice Farm' program, where they can experience rural life in advance. Applications are open until December 26.

According to the city on December 16, this recruitment aims to help prospective return-to-farm and return-to-village residents settle down smoothly. The 'Residential Family Practice Farm' is a well-equipped facility on a 1-hectare site, featuring 10 houses for prospective farmers, individual practice farms for each household, and a shared storage facility.

Selected participants will live at the farm for about 10 months, from March to December next year, receiving basic agricultural training and participating in various hands-on field experiences.

In particular, the houses provided for participants are two-room detached homes, fully furnished with essential home appliances and facilities such as a TV, refrigerator, washing machine, air conditioner, rice cooker, induction stove, and internet. This allows participants to experience rural life in a stable environment without the burden of initial settlement costs.

Participants can use these facilities by paying a monthly training fee of 200,000 won.

Applicants must be committed to relocating to Jeongeup City and have a strong intention to pursue farming. Eligible applicants are heads of households aged 65 or younger who have resided outside Jeongeup for at least one year as of the announcement date and must be able to register their move to Jeongeup after joining the program.

Applications can be submitted in person at the Return-to-Farm and Return-to-Village Team of the Agricultural Policy Division at the Jeongeup City Agricultural Technology Center, or via email, by December 26.

A city official stated, "The Residential Family Practice Farm is the perfect opportunity for prospective farmers with little agricultural experience to gain firsthand exposure to rural life and systematically learn farming techniques, thereby reducing trial and error. We encourage those looking to start a new chapter in Jeongeup to show great interest and participate."
