Hongcheon County Promotes Direct Sales of Local Agricultural Products at Ttukseom Hangang Park in Seoul
Hongcheon’s Specialty Products Meet Urban Consumers Through Direct Transaction Markets
Hongcheon County in Gangwon Province announced on December 16 that it will participate in the '2025 Romantic Hangang Christmas Market,' which will be held at Ttukseom Hangang Park in Seoul from December 19 to 25, showcasing premium agricultural and specialty products directly produced by local farms.
This event, hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, is a major winter festival where citizens can enjoy a variety of food and hands-on experiences in a festive Christmas atmosphere. During the event, Hongcheon County will take part in the 'Seoro Market' program to introduce clean agricultural and specialty products, originating from the upper reaches of the Hongcheon River, directly to urban consumers.
Five representative farms from Hongcheon will participate in the market, offering a range of agricultural and processed products suited for the winter season: Dals Farm (Schisandra syrup and processed goods), Shop Bong Chocolate (bean-to-bar chocolate, cacao tea), Tea & Life (herbal teas), Byeoltang Hangwa Haru Nuts (gangjeong), and Girine Pyogo (shiitake sweet and sour dishes).
The Hongcheon County Distribution Business Group explained that their participation aims not only for short-term sales results, but also to expand contact points with urban consumers and to strengthen the distribution capabilities and self-sufficiency of local farms. They also plan to continue supporting local farms by regularly participating in direct transaction markets like Seoro Market, enabling farmers to independently develop new sales channels.
Meanwhile, the '2025 Romantic Hangang Christmas Market' is a signature winter event in Seoul, providing a variety of cultural content for citizens and tourists visiting the Hangang River during the year-end and New Year season. Through this participation, Hongcheon County expects to raise awareness of its local agricultural and specialty products and to expand exchanges with urban consumers.
