Site Visit to Digital Healthcare and AI Applications
On December 13, Severance Hospital showcased the application of advanced medical technology on-site to ministers from Korea and Japan, as well as the Secretary-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Western Pacific Regional Office.
During this visit, Eunkyung Jung, Minister of Health and Welfare, Kenichiro Ueno, Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan, and Saia Mau Piukala, Secretary-General of WHO WPRO, observed Korea's advanced medical care incorporating AI technology.

During the tour, which was joined by Kangyoung Lee, Director of Severance Hospital, the delegation visited the Severance Hospital AI Innovation Research Institute. There, Hyungjin Lee, Director of the Digital Health Strategy Center at Yonsei Medical Center, Yunbin Jung, Deputy Director of the Information Services Center, and Seungchan Yoo, Professor at the Department of Biomedical Systems Informatics at Yonsei University College of Medicine, presented cases of AI model development and their application in clinical practice.
This tour was organized prior to the adoption meeting of the '18th Korea-China-Japan Health Ministers' Meeting Joint Statement' to enhance the understanding of each country's ministers regarding the current state of advanced medical care in Korea.
