[2026 Regular Admissions] Chung-Ang University to Recruit 1,944 Students... New Department of Intelligent Semiconductor Engineering Established

Full Four-Year Scholarship for the Department of Intelligent Semiconductor Engineering

Chung-Ang University will select 1,944 students, which is 44% of the total 4,427 available spots, for the 2026 regular admission. The university will recruit students in all three groups-Group A, Group B, and Group C-broadening the range of choices for applicants.

Chung-Ang University will admit 1,704 students through the General College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) track. Most departments will recruit by major, but the College of Creative ICT Engineering in Group C will recruit with an open major system. Successful applicants in this group can choose between the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the Department of Convergence Engineering according to their aptitude upon admission. If they find the major unsuitable by their second year, they will be given an opportunity to change departments.

The weighting of each CSAT subject area in the General CSAT track varies by department. For the College of Social Sciences, College of Business & Economics, and Department of Nursing in the humanities track, Korean is weighted at 30%, Mathematics at 40%, and Social/Science Inquiry at 30%. For all other humanities departments, Korean is weighted at 35%, Mathematics at 30%, and Social/Science Inquiry at 35%. For natural sciences departments, Korean is weighted at 30%, Mathematics at 35%, and Social/Science Inquiry at 35%.

Additional points are awarded for English and Korean History based on grade levels. There are no restrictions on the choice of inquiry subjects. However, applicants to the College of Humanities or College of Education who take Social Inquiry, or applicants to the natural sciences track who take Science Inquiry, will receive an additional 5% of the converted standardized score for the relevant inquiry subject.

The most notable feature of the 2026 regular admissions is the strengthening of competitiveness in advanced fields. Chung-Ang University has newly established the Department of Intelligent Semiconductor Engineering to nurture core talent in the semiconductor sector and will recruit 10 students for this department in Group B. In addition, the number of available spots for the School of AI (Group A) has increased from 18 to 22, and for the Department of Industrial Security (Group B) from 13 to 16.

Scholarship benefits for outstanding students have also been expanded. The 'Chung-Ang Talent Scholarship,' awarded to those with a combined percentile score of 288 or higher in Korean, Mathematics, and Inquiry (with a grade 1 in English), offers full tuition for four years, an annual academic support grant of 3 million won, priority admission to dormitories, and full tuition support for Chung-Ang University graduate school. Applicants with a combined percentile score of 285 or higher (with a grade 1 in English) are eligible for a half-tuition scholarship for four years and priority selection for dormitories.

The 'Advanced Talent Scholarship' has also been newly established. All incoming students to the Department of Intelligent Semiconductor Engineering, as well as all first-round successful applicants to the School of AI, Department of Industrial Security, and Department of Advanced Materials Engineering, will receive full tuition for four years. Additionally, through the 'Da Vinci Talent Scholarship,' the top 10% of first-round successful applicants in the natural sciences track at the Da Vinci Campus will be awarded a half-tuition scholarship for four years, effectively reducing the financial burden of tuition.
