Closed Until February 24 Next Year
Facility Inspections and Safety Measures to Prevent Accidents
Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province will temporarily close three natural recreation forests within its jurisdiction-Daebongsan, Yongchu, and Sansam Natural Recreation Forests-from December 16, 2025, to February 24, 2026, to prevent facility freeze damage during winter and conduct safety inspections.
The closure period may be extended depending on weather conditions, and any reopening will be announced in advance through media outlets and the county’s website.
This temporary closure aims to prevent facility freeze damage and safety accidents caused by sudden temperature changes in winter. During the closure, facility inspections will be conducted to provide safer and more comfortable forest recreation services for visitors next year.
During the closure, Hamyang County will inspect kitchen facilities such as water purifiers, conduct comprehensive safety checks on facilities, electrical systems, fire safety, and sanitation, and carry out maintenance work such as drainage repairs.
The head of the Forest and Greenery Division stated, "We plan to thoroughly conduct comprehensive facility inspections to prevent freeze damage and safety accidents during the winter," adding, "We will also do our utmost in wildfire prevention so that visitors next year can enjoy the recreation forests with peace of mind."
