to the Tancheon Stream near Mujigae Village in Gumi-dong
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 16th that it has completed and opened the pedestrian bridge at Maemdol Park on the Tancheon Stream, located at 44 Sunae-dong, Bundang-gu.
This new pedestrian bridge connects the Seongnam Park Golf Course B area in front of Baekhyeon-dong Complex 3 with the Maemdol Park water playground in Sunae-dong (on the side of Bundang District Office), running east to west.
The city invested 1,281 million won over nine months, from March of this year until recently, to install the pedestrian bridge at Maemdol Park on the Tancheon Stream.
The Maemdol Park pedestrian bridge measures 58 meters in length and 5 meters in width, and was installed after removing the existing stepping stones.
With the opening of this bridge, citizens using strollers, bicycles, and wheelchairs will no longer have to make a detour of about 600 meters to cross the Tancheon Stream via Sunae Bridge or Seohyeon Bridge, resolving previous inconveniences.
Pedestrians, who were previously unable to use the stepping stones whenever the stream's water level rose even slightly due to rain, will now be able to cross the Tancheon safely using the pedestrian bridge.
Accessibility to the park golf course has also improved, which is expected to have a positive impact on the promotion of recreational sports.
The city relocated the stepping stones that were removed for the installation of the Maemdol Park pedestrian bridge to the Tancheon Stream at 193-3 Gumi-dong (near Mujigae Village).

The relocated stepping stones connect Seongnam Mulbit Park in Gumi-dong with Mujigae Village. The city also plans to install a pedestrian bridge over this section of the Tancheon Stream by April next year.
A Seongnam City official stated, "The Maemdol Park pedestrian bridge and the Gumi-dong stepping stones will serve as convenient waterfront facilities that connect citizens' daily lives," adding, "We will continue to focus on creating a safe and convenient river environment for all residents."
