Kumon Learning Holds 1st Creative Literature Contest Awards Ceremony

A Total of 306 Preschool and Elementary Students Receive Awards

Kumon Learning announced on December 15 that it held the awards ceremony for the "1st Kumon Learning Creative Literature Contest with Disney Zootopia 2" at the Kyowon Challenge Hall on the 13th.

This contest, held for the first time this year, was organized in collaboration with The Walt Disney Company Korea to support preschool and elementary school students across the country in developing their literary sensibilities by fostering imagination and creativity. In particular, it was designed to help children living in the age of artificial intelligence (AI) enhance their expressive and literacy skills, as well as to nurture their ability to articulate their own thoughts in language.

The contest consisted of two categories: Kumon Learning Literature and Disney Event. Participants were free to choose their preferred format-writing poetry, drawing, or writing prose-when submitting their works.

To ensure fairness, an evaluation panel composed of external experts, including critics of children’s and youth literature and picture book authors, assessed the submissions in five categories for content delivery, creativity, and expressiveness. As a result, five Grand Prize winners, 20 Gold Prize winners, 50 Silver Prize winners, and 231 Encouragement Prize winners were selected, with a total of 306 individuals receiving approximately 30 million won in prizes and awards.

A Kumon Learning representative stated, "Starting with this contest, we will continue to work on developing ways to foster the creative abilities and literary sensibilities of growing children."
