The opening ceremony, held on December 13, was attended by Kim Jeongyul, Director of the Suseo Youth Center; Lee Younggu, Chairman of The Better World; Kim Jonghyuk, Head of Brand Strategy at Shinhan Card; and other related officials.
Since 2003, Shinhan Card has been running voluntary salary donation programs, such as the "Love Account Fundraising," where employees donate a fixed amount from their salaries each month, and the "Salary Rounding Donation," where employees contribute 1,000 won or less from their monthly pay. Through these programs, the company has raised approximately 3 billion won to date.
Shinhan Card uses these donations to build Areumin Libraries and to provide medical expenses for children suffering from rare and incurable diseases. The company is also working to spread a culture of giving within the organization, including employee donations of goods through the "Areumin Win-Win Market."
A Shinhan Card representative stated, "We have been able to maintain our sharing program for 22 years thanks to the voluntary participation of our employees," and added, "We will continue to practice win-win management that fulfills our corporate social responsibility."
