This evaluation targeted 296 registered public museums nationwide. Certification is granted to museums that score at least 70 points, based on a combined score of 70% from a document review and 30% from an on-site assessment.

The Yanggu White Porcelain Museum received high marks across the board, including the appropriateness of its organization, personnel, facilities, and financial management; the thoroughness of its collection and management of artifacts; and its performance in hosting exhibitions and operating educational programs. In particular, the museum was recognized for its efforts over the past three years to pass down ceramic culture, preserve the historical significance of regional white porcelain, diversify exhibition and education programs, and enhance its artifact management system.

The Yanggu region has a historical legacy of producing high-quality white clay since the Goryeo Dynasty, and during the Joseon Dynasty, it supplied white clay for royal porcelain production. Based on this regional identity, the Yanggu White Porcelain Museum has established itself as a space that preserves and exhibits the 600-year history of white porcelain culture.

Currently, the museum houses more than 2,600 artifacts and contemporary ceramic works. In addition to permanent and special exhibitions, it actively operates pottery experience and educational programs. The museum's experiential facilities, equipped with electric, gas, and wood-fired kilns, allow visitors to participate directly in the process of shaping and firing clay, which was also a key factor in the high evaluation.

Jung Dooseop, Director of the Yanggu White Porcelain Museum, stated, "This certification is more than just passing an evaluation; it is an opportunity to promote the value of Yanggu's white porcelain culture and the cultural identity of Yanggu County nationwide. We will continue to expand programs that residents can participate in and experience, striving to establish the museum as a central space for local culture."

Going forward, the Yanggu White Porcelain Museum plans to expand various special exhibitions and educational and experiential programs, invigorate cultural events and pottery workshops in collaboration with local residents, strengthen the preservation and research of its collection, and enhance its role as a cultural tourism hub by attracting domestic and international visitors.
