Jungnang District Opens "Yongma Senior Welfare Center Screen Park Golf Course"

Jungnang District in Seoul (Mayor Ryu Kyunggi) has opened a "Screen Park Golf Course" on the third floor of the Yongma Senior Welfare Center, which is operated by the district. This is the district’s third park golf course, following the 9-hole park golf course along the Jungnangcheon Stream and the 4-hole rooftop park golf course at the Sinnae Senior Welfare Center.

The newly opened Screen Park Golf Course is an indoor park golf facility within the welfare center, designed to allow seniors to enjoy leisure activities more conveniently regardless of the weather.

The Yongma Senior Welfare Center, operated by the district, opened in 2014 and serves as a leisure facility for seniors, with an average of over 200 users per day. With the addition of the Screen Park Golf Course, a safer environment has been created for seniors to exercise within their local community.

The welfare center plans to offer educational programs led by professional instructors and will open the facility to the public on weekday mornings and afternoons. Any Jungnang District resident aged 60 or older can use the facility by applying in advance.

In April of this year, Jungnang District established a 9-hole park golf course between Wolleunggyo Bridge and Ihwagyo Bridge along the Jungnangcheon Stream, which has been used by more than 43,000 people to date. In November, the district further improved accessibility for seniors by opening a 4-hole park golf course on the rooftop of the Sinnae Senior Welfare Center. With the addition of this new indoor Screen Park Golf Course, the district continues to expand its infrastructure for community sports in various forms.

Mayor Ryu Kyunggi stated, "It is especially meaningful to establish a park golf course in a welfare center that seniors can use most comfortably and conveniently," adding, "We will continue to develop a variety of initiatives to promote healthy aging and improve the welfare of our senior citizens."
