This event was organized to commemorate the onboarding of the third cohort at the Youth Startup Center and to promote the activities of the entrepreneurs. The ceremony included speeches from the new residents, congratulatory remarks, a commemorative photo session, and a tour of the startup store.
Afterwards, various side events were held for citizens to participate in, including a Christmas market, one-day class experiences, a flea market, and celebratory performances. Namyangju City’s ambassador, Gaogai, also held a congratulatory performance and fan signing event, further energizing the atmosphere on site.
Now in its third term, the Youth Startup Center provides young people with a comprehensive startup support space, where they can use office space for two years at an affordable monthly rent of 50,000 to 100,000 won, and receive practical support such as education and consulting. This year’s recruitment for the third cohort saw a competition rate of 2.7 to 1, with a final selection of 11 teams.

Notably, the third cohort includes a number of businesses that reflect the needs and trends of the younger generation, such as overseas direct purchase-based online shopping malls, pet photography, and craft classes. These additions are expected to further activate the center’s role as a complex space that combines entrepreneurship and culture.
Mayor Joo Gwangdeok, who attended the event, stated, “I sincerely congratulate our young entrepreneurs on their startups, and the city will spare no effort in supporting our youth as we create the future together.”

Meanwhile, in addition to the Youth Startup Center, the city is expanding support spaces for young people by establishing regional facilities such as the Byeollae Youth Startup Lab and Youth Flower Space branches 2 to 4 through public-private partnerships. The city also plans to expand spatial support throughout the urban area so that young people’s ideas can become reality.
