Hampyeong County in Jeonnam was once again selected as an excellent local government in recognition of its continuous efforts to improve integrity.
On December 14, Hampyeong County announced that it had won the 'Excellence Award' at the 2025 Anti-Corruption Policy Evaluation Awards, hosted by Jeollanam-do and held recently at the Western Hotel in Naju, securing a prize of 5.5 million won.
Hampyeong County achieved a top-tier performance in this evaluation category within the province, reclaiming its status as an excellent institution two years after 2023.
The Jeollanam-do city and county anti-corruption policy evaluation is conducted using both quantitative and qualitative methods across 14 indicators in three categories: efforts to implement anti-corruption policies, raising awareness of anti-corruption systems, and promoting the spread of anti-corruption policies in the local community, targeting all 22 cities and counties in the province to improve integrity and spread anti-corruption values.
Hampyeong County received high marks for actively promoting the 'Integrity SOS Project,' which includes the introduction of a corruption reporting center, the operation of 'Happy Call,' and the Integrity Leader Challenge, thereby enhancing integrity throughout county administration and raising public awareness of integrity among residents.
The county demonstrated the effectiveness of its systematic anti-corruption efforts by achieving perfect scores in 10 out of 11 quantitative indicators.
In addition, Hampyeong County's distinctive integrity policies, based on its integrity leadership, have been recognized for their excellence to the extent that they serve as benchmarking cases for other local governments, earning further positive evaluations.
Hampyeong County stated, "This award is the result of all public officials consistently practicing integrity as a fundamental administrative value," and added, "We will continue to strengthen 'participatory integrity administration,' with leaders taking the initiative and the organization working together, to build a Hampyeong County that earns the trust of its residents."
