Gumi City was highly recognized for its efforts to stabilize the foundation for policy implementation by increasing the number of lifelong educators and revising related ordinances, as well as for restructuring adult vocational and career education in collaboration with local universities, offering lifelong learning courses for the younger generation in connection with population policies, and revitalizing community-led lifelong learning in neighborhoods.

Kim Hyunju, Director of the Lifelong Learning Center, stated, "Gumi has expanded the value of lifelong learning for all generations," adding, "The expansion of adult vocational and career education in line with national lifelong education policies, as well as specialized projects targeting everyone from children to seniors, have led to tangible results."

She went on to say, "We will further solidify our status as the birthplace of lifelong learning."

Meanwhile, along with the Grand Prize in this policy evaluation, Gumi City also produced one recipient of the Minister of Education Award in the regional lifelong learning sector and one recipient of the North Gyeongsang Province Governor's Award in the lifelong education merit sector from both the public and private sectors this year.

This achievement, which includes both policy and individual recognition, once again demonstrates the competitiveness of Gumi City's lifelong education policies.
