Gyeongbuk Development Corporation (President Lee Jaehyuk) achieved the highest grade (S grade) in the 2025 Community Contribution Recognition System on December 12, and received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award in recognition of its contributions to improving community welfare.
The Community Contribution Recognition System is a program that certifies companies and organizations that have carried out systematic social contribution activities based on cooperation with nonprofit organizations and the local community. It is jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare.
Gyeongbuk Development Corporation is receiving the Minister of Health and Welfare Award at the Social Contribution Certification Ceremony.
The certification review is conducted by experts in seven areas, including environmental management, transparent management, implementation system, network, and performance and impact. This year, the corporation achieved a higher level of performance compared to the national average and was awarded the highest S grade.
In particular, the corporation received high marks for establishing an ESG-based social contribution strategy, operating ongoing programs that address local issues, and strengthening local community partnerships. Its dedicated system for environmental management, including carbon emission calculation and disclosure, as well as the use of eco-friendly energy, was also recognized as an exemplary case. Based on these achievements, the corporation has officially been recognized for its expertise and ability to generate results in community contribution activities, earning both the highest grade in the Community Contribution Recognition System and the Minister of Health and Welfare Award.
President Lee Jaehyuk stated, "This award is the result of achievements we have made together with the local community, and it is official recognition of our ongoing efforts to realize social value. Moving forward, we will continue to identify a variety of social contribution projects in cooperation with the local community based on ESG management, and fully utilize our capabilities as a public corporation to contribute to building a sustainable welfare ecosystem in North Gyeongsang Province and to coexist with the region."
