Approximately 200 people attended the event, including the head of the Eastern Gyeongnam Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, local institution and organization leaders, descendants of Lee Taejun, and local residents.

Seok Wookhee, Deputy Governor of Haman County, delivered a memorial speech, stating, "We will continue to honor the noble spirit of sacrifice of Patriot Lee Taejun together with the citizens of Haman for generations to come."

Patriot Lee Taejun, born in Gunbuk-myeon, Haman County, was an independence activist and physician. As a graduate of the second class of Severance Medical School, he made significant contributions to the eradication of infectious diseases in Mongolia, his main area of activity, and was respected as a "Divine Doctor," even serving as the personal physician to the Mongolian emperor.

The ceremony was further enriched by the attendance of Yoon Kyung Cho, President of the Mongolian Korean Association, and Ho Sun Park, Advisor to the Mongolian Korean Association. President Cho remarked, "The Lee Taejun Memorial Hall in Mongolia is deeply respected locally, with a significant number of tourists visiting to honor his achievements," and recited a memorial poem in tribute to Lee Taejun.

In 2001, the Lee Taejun Memorial Park was established in Khan-Uul District, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. On September 4 of this year, marking the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation, the Lee Taejun Memorial Hall opened within the park. The memorial hall exhibits records of his medical service, independence activities, and related artifacts, and has become a historical and cultural site regularly visited by Korean visitors.

Meanwhile, since its opening in 2021, the Lee Taejun Memorial Hall, a memorial facility in Haman County, has held annual memorial ceremonies organized by the Lee Taejun Memorial Foundation, the managing institution, striving to widely promote his noble spirit.

Haman County plans to continue its efforts to ensure that the spirit of independence and humanism embodied by Lee Taejun is properly conveyed and passed on to future generations.
