The Jeonnam Bio Industry Promotion Agency (President Yoon Hoyul) hosted a CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) collaboration program in the Jeonnam region for two days from December 8 to 9, inviting a delegation from the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency and resident companies.
This event, which toured the Naju, Jangseong, and Hwasun Centers, was organized as an extension of the ongoing cooperative network established after the two agencies signed a business agreement in April this year. The program aimed to address the shortage of production infrastructure faced by companies in the Seoul metropolitan area and to strengthen the nationwide support base for businesses.
In particular, the event focused on introducing how bio companies across the country can utilize Jeonnam Bio Industry Promotion Agency's CDMO infrastructure and on discussing practical cooperation measures. The Jeonnam Bio Industry Promotion Agency is recognized as an institution with particularly high demand from startups and small to medium-sized enterprises, offering a one-stop support system including GMP-based biopharmaceutical contract manufacturing, production of natural medicine and raw materials, health functional food manufacturing, and comprehensive consulting on technology, clinical trials, and regulations.
The lack of production infrastructure for bio companies in the Seoul metropolitan area has long been considered the biggest bottleneck in their growth process. To address these practical constraints, the Jeonnam Bio Industry Promotion Agency plans to further expand its business support platform that connects all stages from research and development to manufacturing and commercialization, based on its cooperation with the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency.
Yoon Hoyul, President of the Jeonnam Bio Industry Promotion Agency, stated, "Resolving production challenges for companies in the metropolitan area is key to strengthening the competitiveness of Korea's biohealth industry. By opening up Jeonnam's CDMO infrastructure as a shared model for companies nationwide, we aim to expand the foundation for the growth of the national bio industry beyond regional boundaries."
He added, "We will continue to work with the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency to steadily promote various support initiatives, including joint business support programs, nationwide guidance on using CDMO services, and cooperation for global market entry."
