Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan) held an executive meeting at the Baekseok Annex on the 10th to review the progress of campaign promises for the second half of 2025.

At the executive meeting, Mayor Lee Donghwan stated, "On the 4th, the first snowfall of the season caused severe traffic congestion and a series of accidents during the evening commute, but thanks to swift snow removal, we were able to quickly resolve the inconvenience for citizens." He expressed his encouragement and gratitude to the staff who participated in emergency duties.


He also noted, "Recent studies show that the accident rate on days with snow or rain and for the five days following is at a similar level," and requested, "Please manage the roads carefully not only immediately after snowfall but for at least five days, so that refrozen snow does not lead to accidents."


Mayor Lee further emphasized, "It is now time to wrap up this year's projects and settle and review various subsidy programs," highlighting the importance of transparency and accountability in the management of subsidies. In particular, he stressed, "Please check whether subsidies have been executed in accordance with their intended purposes, regulations, and procedures, and strengthen education and advance guidance for organizations receiving subsidies to prevent improper execution."


Meanwhile, during the executive meeting, there was also recognition for departments that received awards in the safety and security sector, including the 'Prime Minister's Award' at the Safety Culture Awards and the 'Minister of the Interior and Safety Award' for contributions to promoting bicycle use in 2025. Mayor Lee urged, "Please do your utmost to make our city a safe place for citizens' everyday lives and a leader in green transportation."


Afterwards, Mayor Lee received reports on campaign promises with significant achievements in the second half of 2025 and discussed areas for improvement and strategies for ongoing initiatives.
