On his Facebook page on social media this morning, Floor Leader Song wrote, "Assemblyman In Yo-han has declared his resignation from the National Assembly," adding, "I tried to persuade him to continue fighting with us until the end in the National Assembly, but his resolve was unwavering."

He continued, "The reckless actions of the Lee Jae-myung administration and the Democratic Party of Korea, which are driven by extreme factionalism, disregard minority opposition parties, and make life difficult for the people, raise the question, 'Can this really be called a National Assembly?' I deeply empathize with Assemblyman In's anguish."

Floor Leader Song emphasized, "'There is no change without sacrifice. I will step down myself.' In Assemblyman In's decision to voluntarily resign, I saw the spirit and integrity of the last true Confucian scholar of our time," adding, "Since his great-grandfather, missionary Eugene Bell, came to this land 130 years ago, Assemblyman In's family has devoted and sacrificed themselves for the development of our nation for four generations. They are truly a distinguished family."

He went on to say, "Although Assemblyman In's legislative activities end here, the mark he has left on our party and the National Assembly is by no means insignificant," and added, "Even though he is resigning from his seat, he will always be with us for the development of Korea and national unity. We will not forget his intentions."

Earlier that morning at the National Assembly, Assemblyman In held a press conference and stated, "Over the past year and a half, I have concluded my legislative work and hope to leave my position as a member of the National Assembly and return to my original profession."

Assemblyman In said, "Political actions that follow only factional logic are making life difficult for the people and becoming an obstacle to national development. I believe that only by moving beyond black-and-white thinking and factionalism can we achieve national unity."

He continued, "The unfortunate events that have persisted over the past year since the Yoon Suk Yeol administration's martial law must be overcome for the future of Korea. There is no change without sacrifice. I intend to relinquish all vested interests, return to my original profession, and contribute to national unity and development."
