Dongkook Pharmaceutical Signs MOU with Ministry of Health and Welfare for "Love Connection Project for Elderly Living Alone"

Dongkook Pharmaceutical announced on the 9th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Health and Welfare for the 17th Love Connection Project for Elderly Living Alone during the “2025 Sharing of Love” event held at Glad Yeouido Hotel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, on December 4.


The “Love Connection Project for Elderly Living Alone,” hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and organized by the Korea Foundation for the Support of the Elderly Living Alone, is a project designed to prevent solitary deaths among elderly people living alone and to strengthen elderly protection. Through social contribution activities by public institutions, private companies, and organizations, the project establishes continuous safety checks and a social safety net for elderly individuals who are vulnerable and not covered by existing support systems.

Through this business agreement, Dongkook Pharmaceutical plans to actively cooperate in the project by providing regular check-in phone call services and volunteer home visit services to prevent solitary deaths among elderly people living alone and to build a social safety net.


Hyuk Park, Executive Director of the OTC Business Division at Dongkook Pharmaceutical, who attended the signing ceremony, stated, “With the advent of a super-aged society, elderly care has emerged as a major social issue. Alongside our ongoing social contribution activities, we will continue to expand support activities for the care of vulnerable seniors.”


Since 2016, Dongkook Pharmaceutical has been running the “Thank You, Parents” campaign with Insadol, producing “Hyo Boxes” containing toothbrushes, toothpaste, and mouthwash in proportion to the number of campaign participants, and donating them to the Korea Foundation for the Support of the Elderly Living Alone. Since 2022, the company has also conducted the “Walking Donation Campaign with Censia,” providing medical expenses for the treatment of leg diseases among elderly people in vulnerable groups.


Meanwhile, since 2010, the “Love Connection Project for Elderly Living Alone” has received active support from more than 114 private companies, public institutions, schools, and foundations through partnership agreements. The project targets approximately 550,000 recipients of customized elderly care services, as well as other seniors in need of protection.
