This forum, under the theme "The Necessity of Establishing a New Railway between Gumi and the New Airport for the Development of a New Airport Hinterland City," will serve as an opportunity to discuss the importance of railway construction for Gumi City’s integration into the new airport economic zone and the expansion of transportation networks in the central and western regions.

The main topics will include "The Necessity of the Gumi-New Airport Railway for Expanding the Central and Western Transportation Network" by Dr. Kim Geunwook of the Gyeongbuk Research Institute, and "Future Directions for National Land Development - Regional Balanced Growth Centered on Key Hubs" by Dr. Jung Woosung of the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements.

For the comprehensive discussion, Professor Yoon Daesik, Professor Emeritus at Yeungnam University, will serve as moderator, with participation from Professor Lee Youngwoo of Daegu University, Professor Lee Jinsun of Woosong University, Lee Seokhee, Policy Advisor of North Gyeongsang Province, and Shim Kyujeong, Team Leader at the Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They are expected to engage in an in-depth discussion on concrete plans for establishing the new railway and policy support measures.

Given the high level of interest in the new airport economic zone, the forum is expected to attract key figures such as Gumi Mayor Kim Jangho, Chairman Yoon Jaeho, heads of institutions and organizations, members of the chamber, representatives and executives of member companies, provincial and city council members, media representatives, and officials from Gumi City and related organizations.

The Gumi Chamber of Commerce and Industry expects that this forum will help build consensus on the need to establish a railway network essential for Gumi City's growth as a new airport hinterland city, and serve as a significant opportunity to secure momentum for policy implementation.
