The top award went to the 'Ahyeon-dong 699 Public Redevelopment Housing Maintenance Project.' Despite the imminent expiration of the public redevelopment deadline, the district advanced the process through active communication with relevant agencies and residents. The project was praised for preventing the displacement of original residents by introducing small-scale multi-family housing.
The 'Mapo Noguna Cafe' project was chosen as an excellent case. The cafe is jointly operated by people with various disabilities, including brain lesions, mental, and physical disabilities. They directly handle customer service, beverage preparation, inventory management, and accounting, gaining experience and nurturing dreams of independence and entrepreneurship.
The following four projects were recognized as commendable cases: the establishment of the Mapo 365 Observatory 'Mapo Children's Astronomy Science Center,' the installation and operation of the 'Mapo District Babysitter House,' the preservation initiative for former President Kim Daejung's Donggyo-dong residence, and securing fire lanes for Mapo and Gongdeok Markets as a fire prevention measure.
The district received a total of 14 nominations from departments and residents by November 7. Six were selected through a process that included a practical review, staff voting, and a final review by the Proactive Administration Committee, based on criteria such as residents’ perceived impact, the responsible staff’s enthusiasm, expertise, and creativity, project difficulty, and potential for expansion.
Outstanding case officers will be rewarded with up to three days of special leave and personnel incentives. In particular, the official with the greatest contribution will be able to choose one among a commendation with the highest performance rating, a transfer to their desired department, or priority access to weekend resorts.
Mayor Park Kangsu stated, "Proactive administration by public officials forms the foundation for realizing residents' happiness. Mapo District will continue to widely share creative and innovative achievements and further strengthen a culture of proactive administration to bring about changes that residents can truly feel."
