President Lee Jaemyung Sends SNS Message on December 8
On December 8, President Lee Jaemyung specifically mentioned Jeong Wonoh, the head of Seongdong District, who is considered a leading candidate for the next Seoul mayoral election.
On this day, President Lee cited a news article on his social networking service (SNS) stating that District Chief Jeong recorded a 92.9% resident satisfaction rate in a Seongdong District poll.
President Lee commented, "It seems that Chief Jeong Wonoh is indeed doing a great job," adding, "My satisfaction rating as mayor of Seongnam was quite high, but it seems I cannot even compare."
In response, Chief Jeong replied on his own SNS, "It is truly overwhelming to receive such praise from the original 'work expert (a person who excels at their job),'" and added, "I will strive even harder."
Chief Jeong is the only district head among the eighth-term Seoul district chiefs to have been elected for three consecutive terms. On November 12, he also drew attention by sitting at the head table during a meeting of local government heads hosted by President Lee at the Blue House State Guest House.
Chief Jeong is reportedly planning to run as the Democratic Party's candidate for Seoul mayor in the local elections scheduled for June next year.
