Cond? Nast: "Contract Ended to Prioritize Magazine’s Interests"
Vanity Fair, a leading American entertainment magazine, has decided to end its contract with editor Olivia Nuzzi, who has been embroiled in an affair rumor with Robert Kennedy Jr. According to Yonhap News on December 7 (local time), citing The New York Times and AP, Vanity Fair’s parent company Cond? Nast announced, “Vanity Fair and Olivia Nuzzi have mutually agreed to terminate the contract in order to prioritize the interests of the magazine.”

Olivia Nuzzi, a former political reporter for New York Magazine, has served as the West Coast editor for Vanity Fair since September 2024. She had previously drawn attention in U.S. political circles for her vivid profile articles during her time at New York Magazine, but became the center of controversy due to rumors of an affair with Robert Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services. The relationship between Nuzzi and Kennedy Jr. began to be known in Washington political circles starting in September 2024. At that time, Nuzzi was working as a Washington, D.C. correspondent for New York Magazine and had written a profile article on Kennedy Jr., who was running for president.
A month after the article was published, the magazine dismissed Nuzzi on the grounds that she had not disclosed her personal relationship with Kennedy Jr. in advance. However, an external law firm involved in the investigation concluded that there were no issues such as conflicts of interest in the process of writing the article. In addition, Nuzzi’s former fianc?, journalist Ryan Lizza, has continued to make claims, alleging that Nuzzi has had close relationships with other prominent figures besides Kennedy Jr. Meanwhile, Secretary Kennedy Jr. married actress Cheryl Hines in 2014, and Hines is his third wife.
