Comedian Park Narae, who has been embroiled in allegations of power harassment, has filed a countersuit against her former managers who sued her, accusing them of blackmail.
A representative for Park Narae stated on December 6, "We have submitted a complaint to the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul against former managers A and B on charges of blackmail."
The representative claimed that the former managers demanded a large sum of money from Park Narae based on false allegations.
Park Narae’s agency, Npark, also asserted in a statement the previous day that "even after receiving their severance pay, they demanded an amount equivalent to 10% of the previous year's sales."
This countersuit was filed in response to the lawsuits and complaints brought by former managers A and B. Previously, they had filed a criminal complaint against Park Narae for aggravated assault and also reported her for alleged embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes, claiming she used company funds for personal purposes, including for her ex-boyfriend.
In response, Park Narae’s side denied the allegations, calling them "groundless." They further stated, "The former manager established a private corporation, and we have confirmed that some funds were diverted to this corporation under the pretext of agency fees." They added that they are reviewing the scale of damages and gathering evidence to file an embezzlement complaint.
Meanwhile, regarding additional allegations that Park Narae received illegal medical services, her side responded, "She received an IV drip from a licensed doctor," and stated that there was no issue.
