JLK Presents 'AI-Based Paradigm Shift in Stroke Diagnosis' at RSNA 2025

Medical artificial intelligence (AI) company JLK (CEO Kim Dongmin) announced on December 3 that it presented the latest research findings at the global radiology conference 'RSNA 2025' on December 2 (local time), showing that its AI-based stroke imaging analysis solution significantly improves diagnostic speed and accuracy in clinical settings.

Kim Dongmin, CEO of JLK and the presenter, emphasized the practical utility of AI in shortening the golden hour for emergency care, based on JLK's multi-center clinical studies, real-world data analyses both domestic and international, and the application results of FDA and PMDA-approved models.

Kim introduced actual case studies demonstrating how non-contrast CT (NCCT), CT angiography (CTA), CT perfusion (CTP), and MRI (DWI/PWI) can be analyzed within seconds using AI, highlighting the high utility of these solutions in emergency room environments.

The key technological achievements presented included: ▲ rapid speed and high sensitivity in automatic detection of large vessel occlusion (LVO); ▲ reduction in interpretation variability through ischemic lesion analysis and ASPECTS scoring; ▲ quantitative analysis of ischemic core and hypoperfusion areas (CTP, PWI); and ▲ high correlation coefficients of NCCT-based MRI DWI and CTP prediction algorithms.

JLK also released real-world performance data for each solution. It was highlighted that, in U.S. hospitals, the use of FDA-approved AI resulted in shortened treatment decision times, and that in a domestic multi-center university hospital study, the solutions demonstrated a high concordance rate with specialists.

Additionally, Kim explained to U.S. stroke specialists attending the event that AI analysis results are delivered instantly to medical staff via the dedicated mobile solution FASTRO, which can reduce critical treatment decision times such as patient transfer, preparation for thrombectomy, and tPA administration.

Stroke specialists visiting the JLK booth commented, "Given that collaboration among emergency medicine, neurology, and radiology is essential in stroke care, such an instant sharing system will enhance hospital operational efficiency." They also remarked, "If this level of accuracy can be achieved with non-contrast CT, immediate adoption is possible," and "The high concordance of NCCT-based analysis with DWI and CTP greatly enhances its practicality in emergency rooms."

Kim Dongmin, CEO of JLK, stated, "Through this RSNA presentation, we have once again confirmed that stroke is the medical field where AI can have the greatest impact," adding, "JLK will continue to drive technological innovation so that healthcare professionals worldwide can make faster and more accurate treatment decisions, leading the paradigm shift in stroke diagnosis and treatment."
