This academic conference, recently held at Pusan National University under the theme "AI Interacting with Reality: New Horizons in Multimedia," brought together over 1,000 researchers from Korea and abroad to present and share the latest technologies.

At the conference, the team of students Yu Jiyoung and Jo Seongeun, and Senior Researcher Kim Chaekyu from the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, along with Jeong Jiyoon and Kim Museop from the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, won the Excellent Presentation Award for their paper titled "Development of an Emotion Intensity Measurement Algorithm Based on High-Dimensional Facial Information and B?zier Curve Techniques."

Additionally, students Jo Seongeun and Yu Jiyoung, and Senior Researcher Kim Chaekyu from the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, together with Park Yunkyung and Moon Gyeongdeok from the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, received the award for their paper "Development of an Emotion Music Generation Model for Emotion Recognition and Empathy Expression Based on Transformer."

These studies were highly evaluated for being the first to propose a method for analyzing and measuring the intensity of changing emotions through conversations between AI robots and humans, as well as for presenting an AI model that analyzes emotions based on facial expressions and generates corresponding emotional music.

In the laboratory of Senior Researcher Kim Chaekyu at the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute of National Pukyong University, active research is being conducted on emotion recognition and expression for sensory substitution, as well as on the development of AI recognition models and emotional sound generation models using multimodal data.
