Balanced Leadership Recognized
Yanghoon Kim, Chairman of Wando County Council, received the "Basic Council Legislative Award" at the "Local Autonomy Development Awards Ceremony" held to mark the 11th anniversary of the founding of Korea Autonomy Newspaper.
According to the County Council on December 2, Chairman Kim was recognized for his achievements in legislative activities aimed at improving the quality of life for residents and advancing regional development. In particular, he was praised for consistently enacting ordinances and improving systems with a focus on issues affecting people's livelihoods, thereby raising the overall standard of council activities.

Since taking office as chairman in the latter half of the term, he has been credited with strengthening the council's core oversight and check functions while also maintaining communication and cooperation with the executive branch, establishing a "balanced council" model.
The organizers stated, "Chairman Kim has created a momentum of change in the region through responsible legislative efforts," adding, "This award adds special significance to the 11th anniversary of our founding."
Chairman Kim said, "This award is the result of the support from county residents and the efforts of fellow council members and council office staff," adding, "I will continue to fulfill my legislative duties with even greater responsibility for the happiness of our residents and the future of Wando."
