According to the integrated ticket sales network of the Korean Film Council on December 1, the cumulative audience for Zootopia 2, which premiered on November 26, reached 2,106,910. As of 9 a.m. that day, it ranked first in real-time ticket reservations.

Over the past weekend (November 28-30), Zootopia 2 attracted 1,623,898 viewers, securing the top spot at the box office. Unlike its predecessor "Zootopia," which gained popularity through word-of-mouth after its release, this sequel has seen a surge in audience demand from the outset.

Zootopia 2 posted an opening gross of $556 million (815.652 billion won) worldwide, setting the record for the largest global opening for an animated film in history. This ranks as the fourth-largest global opening among all films. According to The Walt Disney Company, the film earned $156 million (228.852 billion won) in the United States and $400 million (586.8 billion won) overseas.

The film is also enjoying strong box office performance in China. It achieved the sixth-highest opening of all time in China and the highest-ever opening for a foreign animated film. Among all foreign films, it ranks second only to "Avengers: Endgame" (2019).

According to Box Office Mojo, Zootopia 2 grossed $59.2 million (86.8464 billion won) in just two days (November 26-27) after opening in 4,000 theaters across North America, making it the second-highest Thanksgiving opening in history.

Alan Bergman, Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment, commented, "The response to 'Zootopia 2' demonstrates the film's global appeal and the capabilities of the production team," adding, "It's a strong start to the holiday season."

Disney explained, "This outcome builds on the success of the previous film, which earned over $1 billion (1.4668 trillion won) worldwide and won an Academy Award," emphasizing that "the universal appeal of the characters and the world has strengthened the content's competitiveness."

Zootopia 2 is a sequel released nine years after the original film debuted in 2016. The story follows Judy and Nick, now official partners at the police department, as they embark on a new case, tracking clues related to a reptile that has not lived in Zootopia for a century.

The film is also receiving rave reviews. As of this date, its Naver audience rating stands at 9.17. One viewer commented, "Even though I watched the first film as a ninth grader and am now an office worker, this animation still moves my heart." Another viewer referenced Nick's line in the movie, "I love you, partner," writing, "This was the line I had been waiting for all this time."
