Initiating Expansion of Global Programs
Dong-Eui Science University (President Kim Youngdo) recently hosted Lee Jihyun, Education Director at the Government of Western Australia Representative Office in Korea, who visited the university to discuss international student support policies in Western Australia, study abroad and training programs, and directions for industry-linked education in the region.
This meeting was organized to explore ways to expand future cooperation, following the university's first study tour to Perth, Western Australia, conducted this year through the Blue Ladder Program.

The meeting was attended by Kim Taekyung, Director of the Office of International Cooperation; Lim Donghyun, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation; and Seo Mikyung, Team Leader of the International Cooperation Department. Director Lee Jihyun introduced Western Australia's international student support policies, scholarship systems, and industrial and educational infrastructure, presenting a variety of opportunities available to students.
Both parties agreed to diversify programs and strengthen collaboration so that students from various departments can participate in practical education and training activities in Western Australia, including language courses, visits to local universities and educational institutions, and cultural and career exploration experiences.
Kim Taekyung, Director of the Office of International Cooperation, stated, "This meeting is a meaningful opportunity to expand the university's strategy for fostering global talent," adding, "We will broaden customized overseas training opportunities by major to enhance students' competencies." Director Lee Jihyun also emphasized, "Western Australia is home to a diverse industrial base and excellent educational institutions," and pledged to "continue cooperation to provide Dong-Eui Science University students with a wide range of academic, cultural, and major-related experiences."
The Blue Ladder Program is a government-supported initiative that offers global career exploration opportunities to university students from underprivileged backgrounds. In addition to this, Dong-Eui Science University operates various internationalization programs, such as global field training and Cheonghaejin University, to strengthen its global competitiveness as a regionally based specialized university.
