"COVID-19 Vaccine Linked to at Least 10 Child Deaths"…U.S. Government Raises Safety Concerns

FDA: "Vaccine Approval Standards Must Be Strengthened"
Medical Community Pushes Back: "An Irresponsible Decision"

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has decided to strengthen the approval standards for COVID-19 vaccines based on documents that directly link the vaccines to child deaths. Vaccine experts have criticized this as an irresponsible decision, especially since specific evidence has not been released.

The New York Times reported on the 28th (local time) that it had obtained a memo sent by Dr. Vinay Prasad, the FDA's vaccine chief, to staff members.

Dr. Prasad, who is often referred to as a 'vaccine skeptic,' stated in the memo, "For the first time, the FDA will acknowledge that COVID-19 vaccines have killed American children," and claimed, "An internal FDA review found that at least 10 child deaths were linked to the COVID-19 vaccine."

However, he did not provide information on how the link between vaccination and death was determined, nor did he disclose whether the deceased children had pre-existing health conditions.

He also criticized the previous Joe Biden administration, emphasizing, "People were forced to receive vaccines that could be fatal due to mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policies in schools and workplaces."

In the memo, Dr. Prasad further stated that all groups, including pregnant women, should be included in clinical trials using vaccines or placebos, and added that large-scale studies are needed to prove the actual disease reduction effect of pneumonia vaccines. Dr. Prasad's memo is expected to be submitted to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), which operates under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and officially establishes immunization recommendations in the United States.

Vaccine experts have strongly objected, stating, "The FDA's review results lack sufficient scientific basis, as they have not been published in peer-reviewed medical journals." Many public health experts in the United States believe that, with over 1 million deaths from COVID-19, vaccines played a crucial role in reducing the number of fatalities.

Michael Osterholm, an epidemiologist at the University of Minnesota, criticized, "I believe Prasad's memo was deliberately released ahead of the ACIP meeting," adding, "Such a critical public health issue as vaccination should not be handled in this manner."
