"Strengthening Private Sector Partnerships Beyond Walking Mileage"

Going forward, users of Seoul City's health management platform 'Wrist Doctor 9988' will receive benefits such as insurance premium discounts and public transportation fare mileage. Seoul City plans to expand partnerships with the private sector to add a variety of new services.

On November 30, Seoul City announced that it will launch the revamped 'Wrist Doctor 9988 Super App' starting December 1, which incorporates these service improvements.

First, a new reward system has been introduced in collaboration with TmoneyGO to encourage participants who frequently use public transportation to maintain their commuting, school runs, shopping, and walking habits in daily life.

For the month of December, if a Wrist Doctor 9988 participant links their membership information to TmoneyGO for the first time, they will receive 1,000 mileage points (1M = 1 KRW). Starting from December 17, participants who walk 8,000 steps in a day will receive a raffle ticket through the TmoneyGO app. Winners can use the rewards, such as mileage points or discount coupons for public transportation including taxis, when making payments. Additional raffle tickets are awarded each time participants achieve their monthly step goal 5, 10, 15, and 20 times, so the more consistently they walk, the greater the benefits.

If a Wrist Doctor 9988 participant achieves their walking goal (8,000 steps per day, or 5,000 steps for those aged 70 and above) on 20 or more days in a month, they will also be eligible for a 5-10% insurance premium discount for 12 to 60 months when purchasing insurance. The specific discount conditions and details vary by insurance company and product. By selecting the 'Insurance Premium Discount' menu in the updated Wrist Doctor 9988 app, users will be redirected to the application site of the relevant insurance company.

The discounted insurance products primarily focus on disease insurance policies that cover major risks such as death, cancer diagnosis, cerebrovascular and ischemic heart disease diagnosis, and hospitalization or surgery, utilizing step count data accumulated on the Wrist Doctor 9988 platform. This year, the benefit will be applied to five products from Kyobo Lifeplanet, Samsung Life, and Hanwha Life, with plans to expand to a total of six insurance companies by adding three more in the first half of next year. The eligible products include three from Kyobo Lifeplanet Life Insurance, such as the 'Non-renewable Cancer Insurance,' 'Internet Term Insurance' from Samsung Life, and 'Step e-Health Insurance' from Hanwha Life.

Additionally, three types of private content selected through the 'Health Content Contest' held in June-medication information, healthy habits, and AI trainer-will be offered as in-app services in this update. This marks a step forward in transforming the platform into an integrated health management platform that covers not only walking but also overall daily health management.

Furthermore, the point system will be completely revamped to further encourage consistent walking. The reward for achieving 8,000 steps in a day will be adjusted from 200 points to 100 points. However, if participants walk 8,000 steps or more on at least five days a week, including one weekend day, they will receive an additional 500 points. Rewards linked to healthy behaviors have also been expanded. If users make a reservation and complete an assessment at a physical fitness certification center through the Wrist Doctor 9988 app, they will receive 5,000 points, and if their fitness grade improves after six months (or remains at grade 1), they will receive an additional 5,000 points.

Bae Jongun, Director of Seoul City's Smart Health Division, stated, "As Wrist Doctor 9988 has become an essential app for the health of Seoul citizens, we plan to expand not only the points provided through the city budget to help more citizens improve their health habits, but also additional benefits through private sector partnerships."
