Field Officials Stand Out for Enhancing On-Site Response and Administrative Efficiency
Mokpo City, South Jeolla Province, announced on November 26 that it had finalized the selection of three "Outstanding Active Administration Cases for the Second Half of 2025" through a review by the Active Administration Committee.
A total of eight cases were submitted for this call for entries. Through a practical review and committee deliberation, cases that achieved tangible results in solving on-site problems and driving administrative innovation were selected.
The first outstanding case involved Choi Ji-won, an official from the Youth Population Division, who quickly established a public-private cooperation system to address the burden of medical expenses and lack of insurance coverage for a family with triplets. The official was highly praised for securing a donation of 10 million won in childbirth congratulatory funds from a company and facilitating a hospital agreement for free medical treatment, thereby significantly reducing the family's childcare burden.
Han Jeong-hwan, an official at the Cultural Facilities Management Office, conducted a comprehensive inspection of over 100 internet lines and CCTV devices within the facility, updated the management ledger, and personally designed an internet network suitable for the facility environment. By eliminating unnecessary lines and arranging for free equipment replacements, he achieved a budget saving of approximately 6.4 million won, earning the Excellence Award.
Kang Jun-hong, an official from the Sewerage Division, conducted a comprehensive survey of 626 groundwater wells in the area, systematically categorizing them as operational, abandoned, or buried, and reorganized the management system. He was recognized with the Encouragement Award for proactively preventing groundwater contamination and enhancing administrative reliability by closing 223 out of 249 buried wells through administrative authority.
The city plans to provide incentives to outstanding public officials and share these best practices with all departments to further promote a culture of active administration.
