The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority has finalized four key strategic projects to be pursued next year.

On the 28th, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced that it will focus next year’s major policies and projects on these four core strategic initiatives, aiming to strengthen the city’s future competitiveness and to gradually realize the vision of the “Global Business Innovation Hub, Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ).”

The four key projects include: ▲ expanding the Incheon Free Economic Zone to the southern part of Ganghwa; ▲ establishing “K-Con Land” to foster the video and cultural industries in connection with the airport economic zone; ▲ promoting balanced development between the old and new urban centers through the creation of a global bio-specialized complex; and ▲ building an industrial innovation platform and driving digital transformation based on artificial intelligence (AI) convergence.

The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority also plans to actively pursue major projects such as the development of Songdo Districts 6 and 8, the construction of landmark towers in Songdo and Yeongjong, and the establishment of international schools. In addition, the administrative procedures for creating complex cultural spaces, including the second phase of Art Center Incheon and the construction of the Edison Science Education Museum, will commence.

The authority will also focus on building infrastructure for nurturing bio-industry professionals, creating a startup cluster and AI smart city, and attracting foreign universities and research institutes. These efforts aim to foster an environment where businesses and the city can grow together based on industry-academia-research collaboration.

Yoo Jeongbok, Mayor of Incheon, stated, “We will accelerate investment attraction in the field of innovative growth and speed up the implementation of major projects,” adding, “We will do our utmost to enhance the value of Incheon as a city and to promote policies that contribute to the happiness of our citizens.”
